The Federation of British Historic Vehicles held a Drive it Day at Poltimore House, Exeter, in aid of the restoration fund.

As this rather imperfect composite photograph shows, the house is seriously in need of a large injection of funds to finance expert work to save it, let alone restore it to a semblance of its once fine state.

The Friends of Poltimore House laid on a good selection of refreshments, including hot food, in the former chapel, where this little governess cart (someone please correct me if I have mid-identified it) is on display.
Whilst the exterior looks uniformly sorry for itself ...
... parts of the interior display some signs of former glories.
Western Region showed a very smart flag, four Bentleys, two Rolls Royces, a Bugatti and three canine companions
Alas, whilst merely moist at the start of the day ...
... frequent heavy showers required that measures be taken.
The centre of attention here is:
Bob Wickham's Type 51 Bugatti

Non-Bentleys

A Borgward Isabella estate car
Daimler V8 and Armstrong Siddeley Typhoon
[A nice juxtaposition for me, as the latter was the earliest of my late father's cars that I remember and I currently have a supercharged version of the former as a "daily driver"]
A sports single-seater ...
... and a long-wheelbase option
